Our First PInk Hair Day is a Success!

It got off to a rocky start, but our first 'Pink Hair Day' was a huge success!

Our hair stylist, Lisa Taylor, was enjoying her vacation in Cuba, when Hurricane Sandy hit. This delayed her departure and therefore her arrival back to beautiful Muskoka. Panicked phone calls commenced early Saturday morning between the Library staff. What were we going to do? How were we going to pull it off? After much scrambling for supplies and a quick lesson in dying hair over the phone (thank you Amanda), we were ready to go, albeit, not very confidently. Thankfully, our first victims, I mean customers, were staff from Henrietta's Pine Bakery. Very quickly, after being told it was Peggy and Cathy who would be dying their hair, they remembered that Carine Harriss, owner of the bakery, used to be a hair stylist. They rushed back to relieve her from the counter and over came Carine and Joanne Wright to our rescue. Happily, without any complaints, they dyed the hair of over 20 people. Thank you ladies, we truly appreciate you!

We were able to raise $351.15 for local families to help with transportation to and from their cancer treatments. Thank you to all who participated!
